Benefits of ITOM to Business Organizations

Luai Bashir earned his bachelor of science degree in computer science and mathematics from Minnesota State University. With 16 years of experience in the financial services, banking, and insurance industries, Luai Bashir is experienced in running processes to roll out multiple large projects simultaneously, including ITOM.

Also known as IT operation management, ITOM is the aspect of administration that involves the use of technological infrastructure and individual areas such as networking, storage, services, and connectivity components in an organization. Having an ITOM policy paves the way for effective implementation, deployment, and support services for organizations.

With proper monitoring of service operations, business owners can detect issues or service outages. Better utilization of IT resources in areas such as project transformation, virtualization, downsizing, and cloud computing can be facilitated by efficient use of ITOM. Planning for the future, and achieving organizational goals becomes more feasible because ITOM allows better streamlining of IT service delivery in planning and budget utilization to meet the demands of businesses. By helping business owners identify areas of service duplication and improve output, ITOM also reduces operational cost.
